Status of IPC —-

I have done following things:-

  1. Simple Message Queue is working fine.
  2. Message Queue is working fine with Parent and Child.
  3. Message Queue is also working with a client-server for chatting in different terminals.

In 3rd case I am facing problem at reader side….. It displays new line automatically after every read………….

To Deepak Sir

sir,
Our project is on Panda Board xM with ARM CORTEX A9 processor, we have to put our own linux OS on this Board . It is the board with advanced features than beagle board .

SOme of the features of Pandaboard is
1.support high level os
2. Dual core processor
3. 384 MHz GPU
4 it includes ethernet, wireless, bluetooth
In this project we will first put that OS image (which has already been developed by emblogic) for the testing purpose by three ways:-
!. through SD card
2.through NFS server
3.through TFTP

Then we will start to create our own OS.

Current TasK:- To Bring up the Panda Board by creating two partitions on it.
1. the first partition is for boot loader (stage1 and stage2).
2. the second partition is for the root file system.

Relation between OS and Kernel.

An operating system, also known as an OS, is the software that makes a computer usable. The kernel is merely the “core” or lowest level of an operating system. The kernel provides numerous callable routines that allow other software to access files, display text and graphics, get input from a keyboard or mouse, and other such capabilities.

The operating systems that we come across today, generally have many features which are not the necessary features to make a system work. But these features are required to make the interaction with the system easier. Such features include graphical interface, file management, process management, shell, etc. These features rely on the core part of the OS (called as kernel) to run and provide interface to the user or other application programs. It is to be realized that these features are inevitable, and only a kernel alone is of no use to the user.
