why kernel can not dereference user space buffer ??????
at time of the writing in multiple quantum there is killed in kernel page and err reported is
sleeping function called from invalid context at arch/x86/mm/fault.c
what dose it mean?
and kernel crash after 5 min.
i have completed the write operation for single quantum and now i m working on multipal quantum.
i have successfully completed
scull trim,
scull follow,
and write complete using single quantum
and now working on multiple quantum
while MAKE there is no error.
when i try to insmod :
following error is produced :
insmod : error inserting ‘./modules/lkm.ko’ : -1 operation not permitted
But the amazing thing is that my driver is registered in /proc/devices(major number is allotted) and on doing dmesg : the buffer has the printk output in it.
Secondly, the *.ko file from different directory and as well as from my other colleagues are working fine my laptop fine.
I tried copying the data to a new place but no avail.
Sir, please let me know what to do.
i am using the above command in super user mode (su – ), but still i have the problem.

i have successfully completed scull read and write with multiple item at application level .
i have successfully done multiple data com. and decom. (bit code length=4).
i have successfull implemented scull write with one quantum and now i am working on scull write with multiple quantum.
I was able to write a single qset successfully, now on to multiple qset…hope to finish that by Wednesday.

i have completed scull using c…and my scull write function also working using single quantum write but after 5 min my system is hang…whats the problem
I create the scull of item size 12 Bytes(qset=3,quantum=4), in that when i perform write operation only first 12 bytes are write and remaining are discarded means only one item wrote and item size is not increased. I am confusing where the problem occurs.
