Out of 7 layer in which MAC lie.

    OSI has 7 layers but again OSI is a conceptual model never really implemented

    rather TCP/IP is a real working mechanism

    and coming to MAC. MAC is the hardware address written on the specific device.

    layer 2 devices communicate using layer 2 address i.e. datalink layer communicates using MAC addresses.
